expressive arts piano

Expressive arts piano is a new and creative way of learning piano using expressive arts technique.  It can be for both who are interested in a creative and fun way of engaging in playing piano and also for those who desire to build up traditional repetoire such as classical pieces.

Expressive arts piano encourages the usage of all modalities of art to enhance the experience of learning music.  Students take an active role in developing one's repetoire, including their own, and shaping the learning process which fits their interests and abilities. Students are encouraged to use their imaginations and improvisational expressions through piano and other artistic expressions such as story, drawing, poem, movements, etc.  Through out the progressive lessons it evolves as a bigger story and even into a group piece.

Eunji is accepting all arrange of ages and abilities of students.  She would like to meet students with different challenges (such as autism, AHDH, Downs Syndrome etc.), who often show a neat interest and talent in artistic expressions.  She would love to help them to find their unique way of expressing their gifts and find their confidence with her expressive arts therapy background and working exprience.

I am offering my lessons at two locations.

Sundance Expressive Arts Studio

Sundance Expressive Arts Studio is located in Roncesvalles area (High Park area) in Toronto.
I am teaching with my ISIS classmate Michelle Denis from whom the idea of expressive arts piano came.  Michelle is a multi-talented artist who has a love for working with children and a lot of experiences of perfoming musicals.
Please visit sundanceexpressivearts.ca for more information about  Michelle and the studio location.

We have a vision to expend our expressive arts piano program into "expressive musical" program where all the materials of the students can be collaborated and developed into a musical which will be perform in public by the students and the teachers.
